RE: old pics of Sunderland
the picture of the punks is outside the upstairs entrance to "Boots", the record/music bit was there , two of them are Golly, and Pikey, don't recognise the others. station skins on the other pic...or the "Enemy" as we knew them....the record shop is the one in Olive street beside LOUIS café,"Sounds"? and the picture of DURHAM BOOK CENTER is actually off the album, which anne dumble, the owner, used to cash in on the music scene in sunderland at the time, no bands receiving any money from it. looking back, don't suppose any bands made owt , and were just pleased to have a record out. still see golly and pikey occasionally, as we played football together for a few years.and the Upper Deck pub is long gone, thank hide the sausage. if you were walking through market square on a Saturday night in the summer, you were subjected to a barrage of glasses/tab ends/ spit/ abuse etc.....from the upper deck...happy days...Big Grin

RE: old pics of Sunderland
class picture of our old "club house" ...but where is the fountain outside?Huh that must have been moved there at a later date. as much as the kings arms is a good meeting place , there was nowt like riding down the hill from the Queen Alexandra bridge end on a Tuesday night in the summer and seeing all the scooters lined up outside. Cool
