bugger
well, stripped my T5 looking for the culprit of the locked up engine, and its the crankshaft that's shed its big end bearing Sad the debris of it jamming the piston against the cylinder head . luckily the malossi barrel is ok, the MMW head will clean up (it"ll have to, it was 160 quid!) the piston might clean up, but the crank is solid. so, new crank, bearings, oilseals, gasket set, etc. etc....... guess who sold his spare vespa T5 engine last week........Blush

RE: bugger
You don't want to be putting old crap into your Malossi T5 engine anyway. Buy the best crank you can find. Then you can thrash it with a bit of confidence.

RE: bugger
agree Rob, that was the factory crank that was in it, but the scooter has only done 16k from new (I know the history of it) so I was a bit surprised it went like it did. Tamenini crank , new piston , bearing set, gaskets etc. getting ordered , but its in the naughty corner at the minute.
